Application of 80kg ozone generator in ozone low temperature denitrification (DeNox)

The application of ozone generator in low-temperature flue gas treatment (≤180℃) is a new low-temperature oxidation technology. The oxygen/ozone mixture is injected into the regenerator flue to oxidize NOX into high-valent and water-soluble NO2 and N2O5, which are then washed through a desulfurization tower and reacted with an alkaline solution to form nitrates, or reacted with water to reduce nitrogen.

The main component of NOx in flue gas is NO (95% by volume), which is difficult to dissolve in water and has poor reactivity. As a strong oxidant, ozone can easily oxidize NO into high-valent NO2, N2O3, N2O5, etc., and dissolve in water to generate HNO2 and HNO3, with greatly improved solubility, so that it can be absorbed at the same time as the later SO2, achieving the purpose of simultaneous desulfurization and high-molecular oxidation. As a clean strong oxidant, ozone can quickly and effectively oxidize NO into high-valent nitrogen oxides.

Chemical reaction mechanism of ozone

The detailed chemical reaction mechanism of ozone is relatively complex. In practical application, it can be debugged according to the key reaction of ozone and NO under low temperature conditions. Under low temperature conditions, the key reaction between O3 and NO is as follows:

NO+O3→NO2+O2

NO2+O3→NO3+O2

NO3+NO2→N2O5 

NO+O+M→NO2+M

NO2+O→NO3

Factors affecting low-temperature ozone denitrification (DeNOX)

The main factors affecting the simultaneous desulfurization and polymer oxidation using ozone are molar ratio, reaction temperature, reaction time, properties of the absorption liquid, and dosing method. These factors have varying degrees of influence on the polymer oxidation and desulfurization efficiency.

Sankang 80kg/h ozone generator is used in the waste gas treatment project of non-ferrous metal smelting industry, and the advantages of low-temperature ozone denitrification are well demonstrated. In this project, a total of 1440kg of ozone is used in this field, and ozone is also widely used in acid tail gas treatment.
